LABYRINTH WALK

Labyrinth Scheduled Walks:

October 6, November 3, December 1

(Please note that in October only information will be available in the Office of Campus Ministry, 10-310, but walkers will go to Westminster on their own for the walk.  In November and December, the walks will be group walks.)

We walk two blocks to Westminster Presbyterian Church to walk the canvas labyrinth in their Fellowship Hall . We return by 1:00 p.m.

The Labyrinth is a walking meditation that quiets the mind and offers a metaphor for life.

It is not a maze in which one finds dead ends, but a winding route to the Center, to the Source, that may guide us in discovering our true selves. Labyrinths can be found in almost every spiritual tradition, from the Tree of Life in Jewish Mysticism to the Medicine Wheel in Native American tradition. The one we will walk is an 11 circuit (circle) labyrinth which is the same design as the one in the floor of the Chartres Cathedral in France.

For those not familiar with this ancient meditation tool, brief instruction is offered.

Come walk the labyrinth if you are curious, or if you are seeking, or if you have walked it many times and found it assists you on your
spiritual journey.

The labyrinth is open from 12 noon to 8pm each first Tuesday of the month if you want to walk it on your own.

Directions to Westminster Presbyterian Church
125 North Wilkinson St.

Go to Building 12 and exit onto Perry St.. Turn left and walk to the corner of Perry and Third St. Cross Third St. and continue on Perry to Second St. Turn right and walk one block to Wilkinson. Turn left and walk half a block and you will find the entrance to the church on the left. There will be a sign at the door giving you directions to come downstairs into Fellowship Hall.

For more information about this opportunity, please contact Barbara Battin, 512-2481.
