Commemoration of the anniversary of the Prophet’s ascension into heaven.

The Martyrdom of the Báb

Bahá’i Faith

 

 

The Martyrdom of the Báb memorializes his death. Members of the Bahá’i Faith suspend work on this day.

Islam

 

 

The fifteenth day of the eighth month is a night of repentance in preparation for Ramadan.

Wassana marks the beginning of the three-month ‘Rains Retreat’ for monks and nuns.

Shinto Faith

 

 

The grand purification ceremony has been held since ancient times to obtain purification from sins and offenses. Walking through a ring of grasses and reeds symbolizes purification.
